Theodora Ekholm
Theodora investigates what discursive frameworks define love ideologies and how they influence the organisation of relationships. Through installations, video and text her art challenges mononormativity on political, social and emotional fields.
Theodora holds an MFA from Valand Academy of Fine Arts and a BFA from Umeå Academy of Fine Arts. She is also part of artist group Mam! and is currently based in Stockholm.
Orgy of Lingua
Outdoor projection, indoor framed print.
Showed at the facade of Göteborgs Konsthall and on the same wall inside the building.
2018
Orgy of Lingua explores the artificiality and construction of both language and feeling rules. The work brings up the neologism compersion, often explained as the “positive feelings about your partner's other intimacies”. Feelings that could be verbalised when not having the exclusive twosome as relational model. The term is not in the dictionary and by showing the acts of writing and overwriting the definition is left open and flexible.
